Yasin Choukri, currently residing in Wilton, CT, has a soccer journey that began in his childhood and has continued through his college years. Starting with Division I Manhattan College and later joining the ranks of DIII powerhouse SUNY Cortland, Yasin’s soccer skills have been honed through various competitive environments, including stints with prestigious Semi-Pro teams like Bridgeport United Football Club and AC Connecticut.
Beyond his dedication to soccer, Yasin has cultivated a passion for chess, both as a player and a coach, throughout his life.
During his high school years at Wilton High, Yasin’s soccer journey reached new heights as a four-year member of the Beachside Academy team in the Development Academy League. His performances earned him recognition as one of the top-50 uncommitted juniors by the New England Soccer Journal. In his final year, his team secured a playoff berth, facing off against formidable opponents such as the Chicago Fire.
Yasin’s involvement extends beyond athletics. He plays an active role on SUNY Cortland’s campus, serving as the President of the Investment Club while also earning a spot on the President’s List for his academic excellence, all while juggling the demands of NCAA Soccer athletics.
Furthermore, Yasin has made significant contributions to the community through his involvement with DIG, earning recognition as the DIG Coach of the Year, serving as the Weston Camp Director, and providing various services such as private lessons in soccer and chess, group soccer lessons, birthday parties, and chess pods.
